Strengthening Applied Training: Two Agreements to Support Medical Students
As part of strengthening applied training and fostering stronger links between the university and its professional and healthcare environment, Djilali Bounaama University of Khemis Miliana signed two important agreements on April 26, 2026, for the benefit of the Medical Annex, in the presence of the University Rector and Vice-Rectors. 🔹 The first agreement was concluded with the Directorate of Health and Population of Aïn Defla Province, in the presence of sector officials and directors of healthcare institutions. It aims to support and supervise students’ practical training within various healthcare structures, thereby enhancing their acquisition of hands-on professional experience. 🔹 The second agreement was signed with the National Institute of Paramedical Training and focuses on developing cooperation in the field of paramedical education, as well as on the exchange of expertise. This initiative is part of the university’s strategy to promote a more open academic training system that is closely aligned with professional and real-world requirements.

World Health Day
Within the framework of the celebration of World Health Day, observed on April 7, and as part of the annual scientific program, the honorary hall of the Faculty of Medicine annex at the new university campus (6000 pedagogical seats) hosted a specialized study day, with the participation of public health stakeholders from the wilaya of Aïn Defla, including administrative staff as well as medical and paramedical personnel. This event aims to strengthen the role of scientific research and field practice in improving public health, to promote a culture of prevention, and to support the partnership between academic training and practical application. The event was inaugurated by a speech delivered by the Rector of the university, Professor Dr. Brabah Mohamed Cheikh, who commended the efforts of the supervisors and participants, highlighting the role of university and healthcare teams in the development of the healthcare system. He also emphasized the importance of basic infrastructure and field training in supporting medical specialties, thereby enhancing the prospects of upgrading the annex into a Faculty of Medicine in the future. Furthermore, he encouraged students to demonstrate ambition and excellence in order to meet current health challenges. The program of the event included scientific presentations, a scientific exhibition, as well as open discussions among participants.
